Tour itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - High mountains of the atlas - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades
In the morning, we will leave your hotel/riad “3 days Marrakech to Fez Sahara desert tour” and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains through the 2260m high Tizi n tichka pass. Along the way, you will see diverse landscapes and unique Berber villages. After the mountains, we will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the oldest kasbahs in Morocco. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, and many international films have been shot there, including Gladiator, The Mummy and Kingdom of Heaven. After the visit and lunch, we will go to Ouarzazate, known as “the Hollywood of Africa.” Next, we will go to our destination which is the Dades Valley passing through the Valley of the Roses. The night will be in the Dades Valley.
Day 2: Roses Valley - Dades Valley - Todra Valley - Merzouga Dunes
After breakfast, we will go to Tinghir, where we will see the Todra Valley from a panoramic view, and then to a beautiful gorge called Todra Gorge, where you can walk inside 300 meter high cliffs. Next, we will visit the nomads and share a cup of tea with them. After lunch, we will travel to the Sahara desert, passing through Erfoud, the world capital of fossils. After reaching Merzouga, you will ride camels through Sand Dunes and spend the night in a camp in the middle of the Sahara Desert under a starry sky.
Day 3 : Sahara Desert - Ziz Valley- Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fez
“The camel driver” will wake you up early in the morning to see a magnificent sunrise, then you will take a shower in your private tent and have a delicious breakfast in the desert. Next, we will travel to Fez, stopping along the way to see the Ziz Valley and the Ziz Gorges. Later, we will arrive in Midelt, where you will have lunch. On the way to Fez, we will pass through the Middle Atlas mountains, where we will stop to see the Barbarian Apes (monkeys) and Ifrane, which Moroccans refer to as the Switzerland of Morocco for its European-style architecture, before arriving to Fes.
