Tour 8 Days North To Imperial Cities, Tour imperial city, Sahara desert and north from tangier, for 8 days you will travel through the history and magic of Morocco, from north to south, imperial cities and labyrinths.
You will discover the influence of empires and dynasties in Morocco, from Fes, the spiritual capital to Meknes and its incredible gates, to the Sahara desert to experience a camel trek and sleep in a desert camp under the stars and finally to Marrakech, the pearl of the south and its beautiful souks, gardens and places of cultural interest.
Tour itinerary
Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
We will start with a drive through the Rif mountains and pass through the city of Tetouan. To fully enjoy enjoy the breathtaking view of the landscape; We will stop to rest at the foot of the Rif mountains, in Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen’s medina has a strong influence of Spanish architecture, as it was once part of “Spanish Morocco”, its square is full of original artisan shops that shine with colours. It is also home to many rooftop restaurants and cafes, also available in the Riads, where you can enjoy the rest of the night with a nice breeze and wonderful view.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After a tasty breakfast, our journey continues towards Volubilis, crossing Ouazan and other Rif villages. In Volubilis, we will explore the Roman ruins and learn about the history of Morocco. Continuing to Meknes, we will stop for lunch and explore the historic walls of the medina along with Bab el Mansour, and visit the Moulay Ismail sanctuary. Later, we will go to Fez, where we will spend the night.
Day 3 : Exploring Fes
We will start the day exploring the oldest city in Morocco, winding through its alleys and narrow streets. We will start sightseeing at the gate of the Royal Palace, followed by the Jewish headquarters where the first Mellah in Morocco was built, during the 16th century. We will make sure that you visit all the sites with cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region. We will also visit the tanneries, the Attarine museum and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch you will visit many different cooperatives and then experience a wonderful panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez.
Day 4 : Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
The day begins with a drive to the Atlas Mountains stopping to visit the village of Ifrane, where we will have the opportunity to explore the famous cedar forest, home to the Berber apes. We will then continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt mountain pass and Ziz gorge (here we can stop for pictures and local mint tea) to Midelt. Then we continue to Merzouga, arriving at our camp where we will spend the night.
Day 5 : Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
We will wake up and head to a local hotel where you will have the opportunity to freshen up and enjoy a complimentary breakfast before heading to Ouarzazate. On the way, we will visit the Berber villages that are home to the Todra and Dades gorges. In Dades Gorge, we will stop at a local hotel where we will spend the night.
Day 6 : Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will continue our tour towards Ouarzazate through the road of a thousand Kasbahs (fortress) stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival. Afterwards, we will drive through Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Day 7 : Tourist visit to Marrakech
Today we will have a guided tour of Marrakech. You will explore the main attractions and monuments of the city, including the famous Jamma el Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, the palaces and the museums. We will also explore parts of the city such as Gueliz, The Menara Gardens and Majorelle.
Day 8 : Transfer to the airport
Today you will be transferred (punctually) to the airport.
