Full day from Fez to Middle Atlas
Full day from Fez to Middle Atlas
Trip itinerary
Enjoy the beauty and clean air of the Middle Atlas region on this full-day tour from Fez, located at an altitude of 1,350m in the Atlas Mountains.
During this day trip you will also discover Azrou, a Berber village built at 1250m altitude and home to the houses of the Berber tribes, the first inhabitants of Morocco. Look at the Berber men with their herds, grinding flour, plying their trades, especially upholstery and carpentry. If you are interested, we will visit a cooperative run by women who wave Berber rugs to discover the secrets of these precious atlas rugs.
A little further afield is the best-preserved cedar forest in Morocco, where you can see leaping Barbary apes; you can give them peanuts and take pictures of them. Along the cedar forest trail, you can even see the gray eddies of the Atlas or wild boar.
We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant where you will taste a traditional Moroccan Tajjine, then we will continue our journey to explore Ifran or “Little Switzerland”, crossing the flowery avenues and admiring the French architecture of this picturesque little town.
