Detailed Itinerary
Day Only: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou Cedar Forest - Fez
The excursion begins in the morning with pickup at your hotel or Riad in Fez. We'll head south, ascending into the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first important stop will be in Ifrane, a city founded by the French in the 1930s, known for its alpine-style architecture, clean parks, and peaceful atmosphere. It's often called "Little Switzerland" and is a popular winter destination for its nearby ski slopes.
We'll continue our journey to the nearby cedar forest of Azrou. This is one of Morocco's largest and oldest cedar forests and is home to a large population of Barbary monkeys. We'll have time to take a walk through the forest, observe and photograph the monkeys (who are usually friendly and approach visitors), and enjoy the fresh, pure mountain air.
In the Azrou or Ifrane area, you'll have free time for lunch (not included) at one of the local restaurants. After a day enjoying the nature and unique landscapes of the Middle Atlas, we'll begin the journey back to Fez, where we'll arrive in the afternoon. We'll drop you off at your hotel or Riad.
